Revia is a drug used in opioid addiction as an adjuvant when opioid analgesics have been discontinued. It is used for opioid addiction, and studies have shown that the use of this drug helps in diseases such as Ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and multiple sclerosis.

Composition and analogues of the drug.

The main active ingredient in the composition: naltrexone.
Analogues of the drug: Antakson, Prodetoxon, Vivitrol, Naltrexone, Naltrexone FV, Naltrexone hydrochloride.

How does the drug work?

Naltrexone reduces the effect of opioid analgesics (analgesic, antidiarrheal, antitussive); eliminates the side effects of opioids (including endogenous), with the exception of symptoms caused by a histamine reaction. Long-term administration of naltrexone does not cause tolerance and dependence. The onset of action is in 1-2 hours. With simultaneous long-term administration, it prevents the development of physical dependence on morphine, heroin and other opioids.

How to take and dosage.

Taken inside. Treatment should begin 7-14 days after drug withdrawal. Initial dose of 25 mg. Within one hour, if everything is fine with the patient, then the rest of the daily dose is administered.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, headache, depression, dysphoria, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity, hepatitis, liver failure, pregnancy, lactation.
