Prilosec is a drug indicated for the treatment of diseases of the stomach such as: erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer, non-ulcer dyspepsia, gastritis, stomach ulcers (benign), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, reflux esophagitis and stress ulcers.

Composition and analogues of this medicine.

The main active ingredient in the composition: omeprazole.
And excipients: hydroxypropylcellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate, sucrose, magnesium carbonate, corn starch, macrogol 600, methacrylic acid, titanium dioxide, talc.
Analogues: Hairabezol, Noflux, Lancid, Barol.

Pharmacological action.

The most basic principle of operation is the reduction and suppression of gastric secretion. Due to which there is an inhibition of all bacteria and restoration of the stomach.

How to use and dosage of the medicine.

Capsules should be taken orally with a small amount of liquid, without crushing or chewing the capsule.
With peptic ulcer – 20 mg per day.
With reflux esophagitis 20 mg, if the disease is severe, the dose can be increased to 40 mg.
With acid-dependent dyspepsia 10-20 mg.
With combined treatment with other drugs 40 mg per day.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: diarrhea, change in appetite, nausea, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, anxiety, cough, rhinitis.
Contraindications: malignant neoplasms in the gastrointestinal tract, pregnancy, breastfeeding period, hypersensitivity to the drug.
