Description
Precose is a hypoglycemic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, it must be taken in combination with diet therapy, as well as the prevention of type 2 diabetes in those patients whose glucose levels fluctuate to high levels all the time.

The main active ingredient in the composition is acarbose.

How does the drug work?
The drug stops the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates by the intestines, especially in the small intestine, and stops the increase in blood glucose concentrations.
How to take and dosage.
Take orally with a small amount of water 30 minutes before meals. The initial dose is 50 mg 3 times a day. The dose may be increased to 100-200 mg. depending on the individual patient response and treatment regimen.
Side effects: itching, skin rash, urticaria, hypoglycemia, decreased hemoglobin, decreased vision, abdominal pain, vomiting, constipation, nausea, pankeratitis, anemia, hepatitis.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, type 1 diabetes mellitus, infectious diseases, pregnancy, breastfeeding, age up to 18 years and the elderly 75 years old, simultaneous use of gemfibrozil.
