Description
Parlodel is a drug used for menstrual disorders, female infertility, amenorrhea, hyperprolactinemia in men, prolactinomas, acromegaly, lactation suppression, and Parkinson’s disease.
Composition: bromocriptine mesylate 2.5 mg.
Excipients: colloidal silicon dioxide, disodium edetate, magnesium stereate, maleic acid, corn starch, lactose monohydrate.
Analogues: Abergin, Bromergon.
How does the drug work?
In the postpartum period, prolactin is required to initiate and maintain lactation. At other times in life, an increase in prolactin secretion leads to abnormal lactation (galactorrhea) and/or ovulation and menstrual irregularities.
Parlodel stops growth or reduces the size of prolactin-secreting pituitary adenomas (prolactinomas).
How to take and dosage.
Taken orally during meals.
In violation of the menstrual cycle and infertility, 1/2 tablet 2-3 times a day.
With hyperprolactinemia in men, 1.25 mg 3 times a day.
Side effects: headache, drowsiness, dizziness, movement disorders, confusion, increased libido.
Contraindications: increased pressure, preeclampsia, severe mental disorders, hypersensitivity, pregnancy.
