Description
MESTINON is an inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase and pseudocholinesterase. Used for myasthenia gravis.
Composition: the main active ingredient is pyridostigmine bromide.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, povidone, glutamic acid, silicon dioxide, magnesium stereate.
Analogues: Kalimin.
How does the drug work?
It has an indirect cholinomimetic effect due to reversible inhibition of cholinesterase and potentiation of the action of endogenous acetylcholine. Improves neuromuscular transmission, enhances the tone and peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract, increases the tone of the bladder, bronchi, secretion of exocrine glands. Causes bradycardia, weak miosis, spasm of accommodation. Does not have a central effect.

Side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity, bowel disease, age under 18, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
