Description

DANOCRINE is a drug. Gonadotropin inhibitor. It is used for endometriosis with concomitant infertility, benign neoplasms of the mammary gland (fibrocystic mastopathy), primary menorrhagia, premenstrual syndrome, gynecomastia; hereditary angioedema.

Composition and analogues of the drug.

The main active ingredient in the composition: danazol.

How does the drug work?

The drug does not have estrogenic and progestogenic activity. It has a weak androgenic activity with a concomitant anabolic effect.
Suppresses proliferation and causes atrophy of normal and ectopic endometrial tissue.
Reduces the loss of menstrual blood, the mechanism of this action has not been fully established.

How to take and dosage.

Dose, frequency of administration and duration of treatment are determined individually. The maximum dose for adults is 800 mg / day. As a rule, danazol is used in the smallest effective dose.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: amenorrhea, flushing of the face, increased sweating, decrease in the size of the mammary glands, changes in libido, vaginitis, emotional lability, nervousness, acne, increased secretion of the sebaceous glands, slight hirsutism, edema, weight gain, coarsening of the voice, androgenetic alopecia, spermatogenesis disorders.
