Description

Betapace is an antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic and antianginal drug.
Indications for use: with ventricular extrasystole, for the prevention of heart disease, with tachycardia resulting from thyrotoxicosis, in patients with high blood pressure, hypertensive cardiomyopathy, for the prevention and treatment of myocardial infarction.

Composition and analogues of the drug.

The main active ingredient in the composition: sotalol.

How does the drug work?

The drug blocks beta-adrenergic receptors, then the heart rate and myocardial contractility decrease. Sotalol lowers blood pressure by reducing the minute volume of blood circulation. And the medicine normalizes sympathetic vascular stimulation.
The medicine has an antianginal effect. Due to the lengthening of the diastole.
After taking the medicine, the effect occurs after 1-2 hours.

How to use and dosage.

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, stage 4 heart failure, during cardiogenic shock, laryngeal edema, diabetes mellitus, breastfeeding period, with metabolic acidosis.
