Adalat is a drug that has antianginal and hypotensive effects. It is used to prevent attacks of angina pectoris, sometimes to stop attacks in angina pectoris, arterial hypertension, with hypertensive crises and Renaud’s disease.

How does the drug work?

It is a type 2 calcium channel blocker. Reduces the flow of calcium into cardiomyocytes and smooth muscle cells. Reduces the tone of tense muscles. Does not inhibit myocardial conduction.

Dosing regimen.

The initial dose of reception makes 10 mg. 3 or 4 times a day. The dose is gradually increased to 20-30 mg per day.

The maximum daily dose should not exceed 120 mg.

Side effects and contraindications.

Side effects: feeling of warmth, tachycardia, nausea, heartburn, increased daily diuresis, skin rash, deterioration of liver function.
Contraindications: arterial hypotension, pressure less than 90. Cardiogenic shock, collapse, heart disease in severe cases, hypersensitivity to nifedipine.
